Book Bag

I really WAS going to make a book bag with
WHAT I HAVE!!!
But then I went into Target for a couple of things...
and came out with two kitchen towels!!!
(They were on clearance!)

Perfect fabric to wrap my gift in!!!

It's a baby shower......
and we were asked to bring BOOKS!

Isn't that a great theme???

NEXT TIME....I'll use the fabric in  my stash!!!
I promise!

This was just TOO cute to pass up!!!

  5. Those are adorable!! I love to look at Target for fabric - I've found some great stuff in their clearance section. And I found some Kate Spain kitchen towels at my Kroger the other day!! Woohoo!! Let's hear it for thinking outside the box!!

  6. I love the pea pod, towel book bag. I can't believe those were towels. I would have never guessed. The dollar store has some cute tea towels some time I might have to snag some they are truly the right 'weight' to make a light duty bag.

  11. What a wonderful theme for a baby shower! I know that after my first son was born, I was SO SICK of reading the 20 or so children's books that I had for him. Now, with son #2, we have so many books that I never tire of reading to them (even though they can both read to themselves now). When are you supposed to stop reading them bedtime stories, anyway? Not for a long while yet, I hope.

  13. That's a great looking bag, and the print reminds me of how, when my kids were little, I thought of them as two peas in a pod, because they looked so much alike. Books make great baby gifts, and it's nice to give them a few they'll "grow into" later.

  14. Hi! Wow those kitchen towels are something! I was thinking how to use mine but can't speak about them in the same day with yours! How great and fun fabric! Also very good idea for a present - books with bag - perfect!

  16. I love those peas! And books are the greatest idea for a baby shower. I was at one not long ago where the mother to be received more adorable clothes than one baby could ever wear -- but you just can't have too many great picture books!

  17. love the "pea in a pod" reference to a baby! Our church threw a books-only shower for our firstborn - it was wonderful. I love that you included a bag as the "wrapping" - so practical and cute.
